Hey :) I used to be on this forum before the change in layout, but now I'm back.
So as a brief intro:
I am 15 years old and male and I live in UK, I am only fluent in English but I know bits and pieces of other languages, notable German and Spanish and I love making conlangs.

How old were you when you joined? Myself I was also 15. ^^ The one who really shocks me is Aeetlrcreejl who was 13 when he joined him and yet he had quite a decent knowledge of linguistics. :o

*still shocked by that discussion on Polynesian languages*

Yeah, I had that "zh" character in Cyrillic :)
I think I joined in June? Just over a year ago? Sometime round about then.

I also am amazed by all youngsters who know so much about grammar, phonetics and stuff. I have allways had an interest in langs but when I was 15-16 I didn't know more than my classmates did, wich was very little.

Sometimes I wonder whether you young people are very intelligent or just nerdy (no offence ;) )or if your parents are into this and that's why you also are into this.

Well I'm nowhere near a normal person my age by the way. - I'm just obsessed and I find this linguistic stuff more interesting than normal stuff I guess. (Not because of my family because nobody in my family are into this).

If my parents were into linguistics I'd be the happiest person in the world, but I got into linguistics myself. Now I exude an aura of nerdiness. I don't even know of anyone studying linguistics, which makes me sad.
