See poll.

As for me, I voted "No, I could, but I'd rather use my own connection"

I think where I live that no one even heard of Wi-Fi. I just read about it now on Wikipedia. :D

Wi-Fi is a fact of life here.
I voted:
Quote:
No, my neighbors secure their Wi-Fi
Most of them do anyway.

How do people get Internet there?

My neighbours live too far away, and only interest in Wi-Fi is if the internet works or not. Would I use it, probably not much if at all.

People use mine. If I have it, I'll share it.

Yeah, I've used it. About 7 months ago some of my parent's friends moved to a new home and we helped them with the furniture. I had carried my laptop with me, and after we discovered there were a couple of free lines, we used it for a while. Haven't done it since.

In El Salvador Wi-Fi is somewhat rare. Companies install a small antenna on the roof of your house pointing to a local tower, and it has a cable that goes down inside the house where the modem is; and there you plug the computers. :) I think they're starting to sell modems with Wi-Fi antennas nowadays, I'm not sure.

I voted "no, I could...". Although I have used my next door neighbors before by accident because my laptop and iPhone prefer there's for some reason... I'd just rather use mine, more private.

For some reason it surprises me that so many haven't heard of wifi... It's a pillar of society where I live; pretty much every house, fast food resturant, and hotel in a thousand mile radius of San Francisco has wifi.*

Delodelphius, 56 kbps is slow here in America. 56 Kbps is dial up in America and I would shoot myself if I had to go back to dialup.*

*Speaking figuratively of course.

I have my own Wi-Fi but I'd much rather use a cable. Unfortunately there is no way to string cable to my upstairs without cutting wholes into the wall.
