That kinda depends on your perspective...If you're a Christian like me (and, unless I'm mistaken, formiko) than you believe that God, though he is in control, is working for your ultimate good. Now what that looks like is another matter, because our idea of "good" rarely fits God's definition.

Anyway, back to the topic:

Currently learning:
Danish
Latin (boooooooring...)
A little Spanish

Up next after I have a good handle on Danish:
German
Russian
Spanish (I mean studying it seriously...right now, I have RosettaStone, and well, we all know how that is)

Maybe eventually:
Biblical Hebrew/Koine Greek/Biblical Aramaic (Maybe I should just say the Bible Languages...)
Swahili/Zulu (I don't think I could handle the clicks of Zulu...)
Japanese
Hindi (emphasis on the maybe)
Italian

Maybe to dabble with:
Old Norse/Icelandic
Some Arabic

The clicks are easy, the tones are more problematic since not even the orthography marks it.

 Zulu has tones??

@Jayan: Yes, you are absolutely right. However, just because we understand that God is in control, and allows things to happen for our ultimate good, doesn't mean we are always happy about it. I wasn't jumping for joy when my dad died for example. But he blesses us DURING the trials. :)

I don't believe in God. I see fate as a mechanical process governed by laws of physics, not always understood by our 3D brains.

I believe in Jesus Christ as King, not always understood by our 3D brains. :)

Back to the topic. I'll be learning German forever, as well as Cherokee. I learned Spanish to an advanced level 20 years ago, and I'm noticing now that I make stupid mistakes with estar/ser and saber/conocer. Yet I speak the language almost daily. I guess they just think I'm a dumb gringo :)

The languages I want to learn:
-Japanese
-Korean
-Chinese (Mandarin)
-Mongolian
-Indonesian
-Spanish
Those are the ones I'm 100% committed to. I don't want to be learning languages forever, so I'll probably be done after I finish those.

With Mandarain, Korean and Mongolian on that list, you'll never be "done" Image

Heck, you never can say "you're done with a language".

There's always more and more... and more!

EVEN in the native language you've spoken all your life, use daily, and will speak until death.
