I like Hindi. I've considered trying to learn it but I don't think I ever will.

I've already committed to learning several languages & I don't think I'll have time for another.

I really like the nasal sounds in Hindi and the writing is just beautiful!
I have a few books on Hindi language and I learned to write it by myself, but I think it's a difficult language to learn. I studied a few lessons but it got too complicated :geek:

I have wanted to learn Hindi for a long time but have had too many other commitments to manage it, although I did have a go once. It is something I verymuch look forward to foing in the future.
The main reason why I want to learn so much is because I love Indian music. I loved traditional Indian music from like 8 y.o. and one day when I was 10 a friend gave me a tape of Bhangra music and I fell in love. Although I have never been bothered about ot knowing what the words of asong are, in this case I really wanted to know and decided that one day I should learn Hindi so I could understand them. (At that age I didn't realiese that the songs were in Punjabi). Through Bhangra I started listening to the BBC Asian network and disscovered other Indian Genres like Bollywood songs. As many of the programms are in Indian or dual language I slowly got a feel for the language and can now understand basic Hindi (especially when they use a lot of English words).
I still want to know what the words in those Bhangra songs are, but I would much rather learn Hindi. I don't know if learning Hindi would be a help or a hindrance to this. Any idea?
