Turkic Numerals Translation

Postby Ray01 » Mon 03 Jun 2013 4:10 pm

Hi all,

Did the Turkic language have a numbering system or was it written simple as 1, 2 etc..?

I'm searching for a numbering system to translate a birthday date using the Turkic system, or ones that the huns, the gokturk or the uygurs used. The earliest I could find a numbering system relating to the turkic people was the ottomans which used the eastern arabic method.

Any help or clarification would be much appreciated

I'm sorry, but I think the question could use some clarification.

Dan what kind of clarification do you require? Are you saying the question is not clear?

I am questioning how did the Turkic language present it's numbers? Does a numbering system exist? If so how is it written down? I.e Latin 1.2.3 etc...

Regards

I was going to attempt to write Abigail using the Turkic alphabet but couldn't work out how to actually write it down on here.

I was going to use the link as below and just pick the letters? Is this the right principle?

ftp://ftp.dante.de/tex-archive/fonts/or ... khimov.pdf

I am still struggling to find any numerals for the Turkic language? The earliest numerals I have found relating to the Turkish is the ottoman period which used eastern arabic method of writing.

Any help would be much appreciated
