One sentence in Koine Greek please?

Postby Lexicon » Wed 13 May 2015 1:25 pm

Hello everyone

I wonder if someone can help me here. I'd like to get a ring engraved with a slightly paraphrased New Testament quote, but as I don't speak Greek it's proving tricky to get!

The verse I'm starting with is Matt 22:30: 'For at the resurrection they shall neither give nor be given in marriage, but they shall be like the angels of God in heaven.'

I'd like to slim it down and rearrange it a little to 'Like the angels in heaven, neither giving nor being given in marriage'.

I have a link to the verse in question here - http://www.nestle-aland.com/en/read-na2 ... 01/229999/ , and I can ALMOST get it, but I can see that 'they shall be like' is all one word, and not speaking Greek I don't know what to substitute to just say 'like' or 'as'.

Please can someone kindly help? Many thanks in advance.

I think I've got it. I'm not able to type Greek here but...

"Omoia ws aggeloi en tw ouranw
oute gamousin oute gamizontai"

...using w as Omega. Does that look right?

Thanks again.
