Because there is not yet a thread for the Chinese language, this thread is thus intented as a place to discuss and to converse in the Chinese language.

大家應該多互相交流。 如果只用某種方言來交流，那就會把大部分的人們，給排除在外了。 漢語是個很強的工具，我們應當多加運用。

在下有個想法： 我們都在創造語言或文字，這當然是件有趣的事。 但是，我們是否想過，創造一些獨特的漢語方言。 比如讓漢語的發音，因受了其他語言的影響，而完全變化或進化。 文法以及語法，亦能如此而演變。

I thought <漢語> refers to spoken varieties of Chinese, and <中文> specifically refers to the Chinese written language.

Both means the same. However, 【中文】is more "nationalistic term" whilst 【漢語】is more "cultural grouping"; the former is saying the "Language of China", the latter is the "Language of Han". In truth and reality, there are many languages spoken in Mainland China which are not the "Language of Han"; thus, using 漢語 is my preferred choice.

【中文】與【漢文】意義上都大致一樣。 但是，【中文】是指「中國人的語文」，而【漢語】是指「漢人的語言」。 在中國廣大的土地上，所擁有的語言種類，也不止於漢族人的語言。 因此，在下選擇使用【漢語】一詞。

So nice to see the traditional characters, even if I can't read them all. If it's not too much to ask, could you add a translation after what you write? That way I can follow along and learn new words.

The Chinese message is the translation (although not a word-for-word one) of the English message. It will be too tiresome for me to explain each Chinese word of my message in English because, each given Chinese word's meanings can change depending upon the syntax and context of the phrase used.

However, I am willing to offer you some partial helps, shall you ask for an "individual word" or a "given phrase", instead of the entire message itself.

Okay. Am I correct to say【中文】是指「中國人的語文 means "Zhongwen means the spoken language of Chinese people"? As I understand it, 語 means speech or spoken language, and 文 is written language. Right?
