...Although I enjoyed working with elementary aged children, during my junior year of college, I began tutoring math at a middle school to help students who were at risk for failing the End of Grade exam. That year, 86% of the students I tutored, who were expected to fail the math End Of Grade Exam, passed. That experience made me want to teach middle school math.
