There are word plays, and jeopardy-like games that can be incorporated into studying. I know games and correlations to other words, events, songs, shows, etc. have helped me a lot.

Yona Y. ...Because I had to learn the grammar and vocabulary from scratch, I know how to explain the grammar rules beyond simply, "That's just how it is," which is what you'll get from most native speakers. Moreover, the Spanish language is one of my greatest joys. Even though I speak and read fluently, I enjoy continually developing my language skills for the fun of it.
