...To help older readers struggling with comprehension, I focus on high interest text first. By emphasizing vocabulary, context clues, active reading skills, and more, students are able to find greater meaning in a given text. Reading and writing are inextricably linked, so when I work on reading skills with students I always have them complete a relevant writing activity.
