...I have been actively involved with the DEAF Community for more than eight years. I have been teaching sign language on an informal basis for over five year a variety of students. I use methods that are interactive and fun to help stimulate the mind to remember and use what has been learned.

...The best way to learn any language is to be immersed in an environment where the student is exposed to it 24/7. Currently I am in such an environment. I am a senior at Gallaudet University, the world's only liberal arts university for the deaf and hard of hearing, and will be graduating in December of 2013 with a degree in Deaf Studies.

...I will not only be teaching signs, but also the culture itself. I hope to bring people awareness of how much ASL have cultivated throughout the years and why it is so important to the deaf community. My mother is a CODA (child of deaf adults) and a teacher for the deaf, as well as a certified ASL interpreter.
