Here’s a recording in a mystery language.
Can you identify the language and where it’s spoken?
[Update] It seems as if this isn’t the language I thought it was, but rather a talk about the language in Hindi. Here’s a recording of the actual language, and I pretty sure it is the right one this time:
Sounds like Hindi to me.
C’mon Simon, not another Indian language. Give us something from another part of the world 😛
Yes, this has got to be Hindi or something very closely related to Hindi like Bhojpuri or Panjabi.
bennie – next week’s language will certainly be from somewhere else.
This sounds pretty much like standard Hindi
Thanks for the laugh!
I heard lots of references to bhasha (language) in the Hindi…
Now to listen to the intended recording!
I realize it’s an Indian language based on the other comments here, but honestly it sounds like a weird combination of Italian and German :/
Based on some references I could make out from the first recording, I think the language is “Garhwali”, an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the Himalayan Uttarakhandam region.
This time it sounds more like Nepali because I hear alot of ‘cha’ and ‘chun’ at the end of sentences. But there’re also many words that start or end with ‘sh’, and in Nepali the ‘sh’ consonant is very rare. But it’s definitely another Indo-European language of northern India or Nepali.
The answer is Garhwali (गढ़वाली), which is spoken mainly in Uttarakhand in India.
The first recording comes from the YouTube and the
second from the Global Recordings Network.
