...My mother, a trained artist, taught me to draw, and then I learned to paint on my own in middle school. I went on to study fine art at a special high school that only admitted students by audition, and in college. I have tutored many people in drawing and painting, although most frequently in informal settings, because I was not pursuing a career as an art teacher.
