New Ceigean

Ciijan alphabet was invented by Christian Meredith as an alternative alphabet for English. The letter styles were inspired by the Armenian, Nuskha-Khucuri (Georgian) and Amharic (Ethiopian) alphabets, while the inspiration for the actual letter shapes comes from cursive Russian, cursive Latin and Greek, and the vowel system was inspired from Hebrew and Arabic.

The letters are divided into groups depending on how the sound is made (for example, 'a', 'o', 'u' and 'w' look vaguely similar, and the same applies for the 'h' group (h, k, q, g, x) and the 'm' group (m, p, b).
For the most part, vowels are differentiated by using dashes above or below the letter, similar to Hebrew nikkud. And, like nikkud, they can be omitted while still being moderately comprehensible (e.g. 'to' and 'ta' look identical without the marks, but it can be deducted that 'to' is the correct word).
