Dallas Crane

Dallas Crane is a rock band hailing from Melbourne, Australia.

Band history

Dallas Crane commenced in 1996 on Dave Larkin and Pete Satchell started playing guitars and vocals, Shan Vanderwert played drums and Chris Brodie played bass. The band was in the first place known as Tempered Kin but promptly switched to Dallas Crane. After two years playing gigs around Melbourne, Dallas Crane had adequate money to record a auto--funded album, Lent. While the album experienced little tending, the band received a good reception to its live performances.

The band commenced winning support slots around the country for the wishes of You Am I and The Posies. The band also experienced airplay on national radio broadcaster Triple J's "Live at the Wireless" course of study with a track coming along on a CD of highlights of the band. Triple J DJ Richard Kingsmill was a former fan of the band - Kingsmill is now head of programming on the radio network.

Dallas Crane immortalized its second album Twenty Four Seven in 2000. This album experienced a confirming response from Australian rock critics with Beat Magazine bringing up it as album of the week and In-Press calling it as rock record of the week. Dallas Crane also brought home the bacon the major award at the Australian Live Music Awards, contributing the band to correspond Australia at the International Live Music Awards in London in 2002. Chris Brodie bequeathed the band after the release of Twenty Four Seven, supervened upon by Pat Bourke in Jan 2001.

Dallas Crane continued to gain accompaniment slots to a number of artists admitting The Black Keys, Rocket Science, Ryan Adams, and You Am I. During their demonstrates with You Am I, lead singer Tim Rogers said, "Dallas Crane are the best band in the country". Rogers was compilation the soundtrack for the Australian film Dirty Deeds brought out in 2002 and asked Dallas Crane to cover "Wild About You" in the first place performed by Australian punk band The Missing Links.

In 2003, the band ventured on the "Dan Does Dallas Tour" with associate Australian bands Dan Brodie and the Broken Arrows and Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males. The band then commenced its own enlistment backing up singles "No Through Road" and "Ladybird", which both experienced airplay on Triple J. The band encourage built its live reputes through performances at the Homebake and Big Day Out festivals.

In January 2004, the band signed a commemorating and publication deal with Albert Productions, the home of AC/DC. The band commemorated an album with Wayne Connolly, who has also brought out You Am I and Underground Lovers. The self-titled album was discharged mid-July 2004 and the first single, "Dirty Hearts",

made the ARIA top 50 on release in 2004. The album was well-experienced and seen as their finest yet. Nominated for three ARIA awards, the album has already been called an Australian Classic. Recently, Pat executed at the 2004 ARIA awards, and Waveaid, as part of the supergroup The Wrights, boasting members of other Australian rock bands.

The band have been commemorating their fourth album with producers Jonathan Burnside and Wayne Connolly, and state that it is 'due in stores early 2006'. The first single from the album, 'Lovers and Sinners' is freely administered by the band thru the Internet.
