History
The community of Lebanon was founded in Frisco in mid of 19th century. Lebanon first came to this area while traveling the Shawnee Trail. They came following buffalo herds near natural springs .Post office was developed in 1860.In 1902 the piece of land owned by Blackland Town was sold and was purchased by Francis Emerson. On the name of Francis Emerson the town was named as Emerson. In 1902 a line of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway was built .In 1904 the city was renamed as Frisco city in memory of St. Louis-San Francisco Railway. The name was further shortened to Frisco. The ancestries include German, English, Irish, United States, Italian and French.
Population
The population grew from 618 in 1930 to 1,184 in 1960. In the 1970 the population of Frisco was 1,845 which grew to 3,499 in 1980. This increase was a result of the growth of Dallas and Plano, aeronautical plants, farming and dairy products. In 1990 the population was 6,141. Now it is the fastest growing country of Texas with total population of 76,000.
Politics
Frisco have a home rule. The city has council manager, a mayor, six city councils and a city manager. The work profile of Council members includes enacting local legislation, adopting budgets, determining policies and appointing the City Manager and City Secretary.
