Car reports are very important for those who like to be updated about happenings of motor industry, or keep changing their vehicles. Though there is a dramatic development in new cars still requirements for call back for new cars are increasing in the market. May be the reason could be that new motors are complicated to handle. Whenever there is a requirements for new vehicle, people think that what is a need, but actually there are many complications in new vehicles if you measure it on long term purpose like fire in engine, wheel fall off, unnecessary explode in air bag, bad steering and many more.
Even the best selling vehicles face callbacks ; there are many people who are still satisfied even if there are 1-2 callbacks of their vehicle, they feel that all is well if end is well at least vehicle is completely fine now . But there is a large group of people who feel quite agitated with the callbacks of their vehicle, and it is happening with best brand too. People who pay big amount for their vehicle do not seem satisfied at all with little trouble at all with their expensive vehicle.
It was published in a famous motor magazine that Toyota has made average two recalls on it 16 best models in 2005v and 2006, now you can imagine that 16 models is enough to create rage in people about the call backs.
When National Traffic and Motor Safety Act was announced many manufacturer called recollect their thousands of vehicles to correct their safety faults, which was very much acceptable, but there are other manufacturers too who recollect their vehicles not to correct safety defects but for the mere correction of manufacturing defects.
The process of call backs of vehicle is little long and tedious, first of all the authorized people check for complain letters, e-mails, reports on cars etc, then based on that companies organize call backs of cars according to model. Generally organizers consider those defects, which are risk to safety. Organizers consult their engineers about the issues from gathered mail; on the consultation of engineers they organize callbacks. It is all done through The NHTSA (The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). If NHTSA sends letter to the organizers and they refuse to take action on it or if the do not make call backs for auto then there is rule that they can be challenged in court, there could be hearing against them too, but any issue hardly reach that level in reality.
Auto companies without any interference of NHTSA make mostly callbacks. Auto maker deals with everything at their end, the have their own customer services to deal with all such issues and to know about it. In case any issue occurs they try to resolve it by just repairing it but if issue is such big then that get taken care of by callbacks of their auto.
