Car audio speakers
A speaker is a device which converts electrical signals into sound signals. In the earlier contemporary style of car audio systems, speakers were located at the rear of the car. However, with the gradual change, speakers have now become an essential part of the car audio world. They are placed at all the corners of the car to give maximum sound and the finest quality.
CAR Audio Speaker
The car audio speaker is the most important organ of the audio system in a car. One should be very careful while selecting a speaker for his car. Earlier it was considered that more the number of speakers, the better and the louder the quality of sound would be. However, this was just a myth. The quality and the volume of the sound produced in the car depend on the quality of speakers assembled in it and not the quantity. While buying a speaker, the most essential factor to be kept in mind is its efficiency. Efficiency determines the distance the sound produced by it would travel. The unit to measure efficiency is decibels. Other factors to be kept in mind are:
? Maximum power RMS
? Maximum peaking power.
For achieving the optimum sound and the utmost volume, there are two options:
1. Multi axial system
2. Component speaker system.
Multi Axial system
Here the speakers share a common speaker chassis. There may be two or more speakers attached in the car. Usually, the multi axial system consists of a tweeter, which is small in size. It produces high frequencies and is generally located in the centre of the woofer. The woofer is large here and produces low frequencies. This arrangement is also known as the co-axial speakers. It may at times, have three speakers called as tri axial or even 4 speakers called as 4 ways or even the multi axial system. Here, all the speakers are attached to a single chassis. This chassis may vary in size from a radius of 2 to 5 inches.
Component speaker system
To avail the different frequencies in ones car, opting for a component speaker set is agreat idea. It produces all frequency ranges. The bass and high pitch speakers also help increase the sound out put. Usually the bass is located at the rear and the high pitch speakers at the front. The whole set up generally includes two midrange speakers, a subwoofer and two tweeters. The subwoofer produces the impact of the music. It has a bass and a sub bass. Due to which, vibrations are produced that gives a feel of the music in the optimum way.
Overview
The component speaker systems give better results and thus, it is more preferred. The major disadvantages of the multi axial system is that, firstly they cost much more than the component speaker system. Secondly, the quality of output produced is not as good as that produced by component speaker system. Thirdly, the installation is a complex process and needs timely alignment.
