Traveler insurance policy is a strong asset for any traveler. A traveler can have many claim options in any unwanted incidents during a trip. The accidents or health hazards are unexpected at any point of time and place. A Traveler policy helps a lot in this regards. The travel insurance policy includes several eventual conditions and benefits to a policy holder.
Policy type: There are several insurance policies for traveler like single trip or multi trip policy. If you are planning to travel more than once a year, then there is an annual policy that is ideal and cheaper for you than buying several single trip policies. The annual policy covers an unlimited amount of trips including business trips, up to a total of 180 days per year i.e. maximum of 45 days per trip. Alternatively, if you have planned only one trip in year that is up to 90 days long, then a single trip policy would be suitable.
Policy period: As per your schedule, you can go for a single trip policy for the number of days you are going away from 1 day to 90 days. Any trip taken within an Annual policy will cover you up to a maximum of 45 days and up to a total of 180 days, which can be taken in single period of travel insurance. It is usually possible to extend a trip within the policy limits prior informing to the company.
Multi-trip policies: Multiple trip policy will cover you partner and you if you go on separate holidays. All adults named on the policy schedule are covered whilst traveling on their own not traveling with the policyholder. The family annual multi-trip policy covers your children, if they go their school trip. This policy provides cover for insured children traveling with school trip or recognized organizations that are supervised by adults as a condition.
Unfit policy: If you do not think the policy is not fit for you can return your policy to us within 14 days of receiving it. Send it back the policy to the relevant Insurance Services office. Suppose you have not taken any trips or you have not made or intend to make any claims, you can cancel the policy and get your money back.
Your existing medical condition can be covered under travel insurance policy. If you are suffering from a medical condition or symptom, or have had cancer, heart or respiratory related conditions in the last five years. In order you wish to quote to the insurance company, you need to call their customer care as soon as and have a discussion this with you in more detail.
When your family member is in a traveling party and has an existing medical condition you can still have cover under traveler policy. If anyone, who is to be named on this policy is suffering from a medical condition or symptom, or has cancer, heart or respiratory related conditions in the last five years; you can ask the companies to give you a quote.

During Traveling: Do carry your policy with you while traveling. It is recommended that you carry your policy booklet, schedule, any medical letters or endorsements on holiday with you so that you can refer to it if necessary. Lost or Stolen: You report in writing to the Police within 24 hours if any of your belongings are lost or stolen. If appropriate, ask your courier or hotel or apartment manager to report in writing on the theft or loss of things from their custody.
Traveling in Europe: While traveling to European Union (EU) countries, you should obtain Form-E111 from the post office. This allows you to get certain medical treatment free in EU countries. For more details, ask for the ?Health advice for travelers? booklet and the form at the post office. You can reduce the cost of medical treatments using the E111 form. Or that can be recovered 75% or more of any amount from the insurance companies on claim.
Europe Countries coverage: The policies are applicable a trip in European countries are Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, the Azores, the Balearic islands (Ibiza, Majorca, Minorca), Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Canary islands (Tenerife, Fuerteventura, El Hierro, La Gomera, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, FYR Macedonia, Madeira, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Vatican City.
Sports event coverage: Before you go for an adventure and risk full event like extreme sports, trekking during your trip, check the list of excluded activities, which are not covered in the policy booklet. Check to see whether your intended activity is covered or not by referring to this list. Then take the step for an enjoyment.
Under the winter sports cover, can I ski or snowboard off-piste may be one of covered policy. The company pays the appropriate compensation, if snow conditions cause all the skiing or snowboarding facilities as listed in the policy booklet.
Making a Claim:
For medical claims, you need to call the customer care service mentioned in the companies? policy booklet. The service is available 24 hours, 365 days. You need to quote reference IGCS 1482. Traveler age limits: Single trip policies are available to policyholders aged 18 to 99 years. Annual policies covering worldwide regions are available to policyholders aged 18 to 64 years. Annual policies are available to policyholders aged 18 to 99 years for the European region. The winter sports cover is available to people under the age 65 years.
Vehicle coverage during: If your vehicle breaks down during traveling, the travel insurance policy does not cover vehicle breakdown and you should insure yourself separately with a Breakdown Policy.
