Legislations in the world The worlds today is made up of about 190 countries give or take a few. All of these countries are independent. An independent country has many factors to consider. Some of these factors include the well being of the citizens, a strong economy and the security of the country. The security of the country entails the formation of laws and establishing a judiciary. This process is collectively known as the process of legislation. Almost every country has its own separate legislation in the world and this is very important as the country is run according to the legislation. Thus a good and balanced legislation leads to good governance of a country.

Attorneys are a very integral part of the whole judicial and legislative process. Attorneys are the individuals who are entrusted the job of representing society in a court of law. An attorney can contest a legal case in court and that is usually considered as the prime job of an attorney. However Attorneys also have an important and a very revolutionary privilege through which they can argue against a particular law or a special clause in a law and contest a case in a court of law to change it. Thus attorneys enjoy a very privileged position in the world today and they are often regarded as keepers of the law of a state.
Attorneys have several functions to dispense but the important functions among them are to contest cases in a court of law on behalf of clients, advising clients on legal issue and also attorneys offer free legal consultation and one of their functions is the drafting of documents pertaining to legal affairs like wills of people and power of attorneys and so on.
What is an attorney?
An attorney as we have just read is an important part of the legislation and enjoys quite an eminent position in the legal hierarchy.However to become an attorney there is a long and tough process and a lot of studying and hard work. An aspiring attorney needs to have a degree in professional law and that is the first step.
A degree in professional law is a must for almost every state on the way to becoming an attorney. This is the degree where the students are taught the basics of the world of law. They are evaluated for their proficiency to argue and defend cases in court and their knowledge of the legislations and all its related subjects. After acquiring a degree in professional law the aspiring attorneys have to successfully pass an exam set by the state bar commission. At times there is more than one exam and the applicants have to successfully complete all these exams in order to be certified and licensed attorneys. These attorneys have to complete a required number of seminars and legal courses to stay up to date with the legislation. After the completion of all this are the attorneys fully qualified and then allowed to practice.
